Apart from plants grown for food, roses must be one of the oldest cultivated species
as we know the Romans grew them in large quantities for decoration and they have
never lost their popularity throughout the ages. Hybrids of all sorts have been
made over the years and have led to the wide variety we have on sale today. Our
Rose season starts in the autumn and continues through until September / October
of the following year, so late autumn is the best time to come for maximum choice.

We also sell Rosa canina and Rosa rugosa as bare-root hedging. The plants are sold
in 4L pots some of which are freshly potted from bare-root. They are all first grade
plants and we specially choose our selection to offer you a wide choice of colours
and varieties.

We have recently decided to concentrate on climbers, ramblers and shrub roses at
the Dingle so as to give our customers a wider choice of these whilst our sister
nursery, The Derwen will continue to stock hybrid teas and floribundas. We stock
old and modern roses as well as a selection of species and a small range of David
Austin English shrub roses too, all at very competitive prices.
