The traditional place to grow herbaceous perennials in a garden is in long borders
which make a fantastic show from early summer onwards but are bare in the winter
months as most of them die down completely. However, these versatile plants can
be placed with shrubs, under trees and even in pots to add extra interest to the
basic structure of your garden throughout summer.

Most form clumps with multiple crowns which are easily divided after a few years
to make more plants. We stock a large, comprehensive range of perennials which are
laid out in alphabetical order. Form the commoner plants such as Alchemilla, Lupinus
and Kniphofia (Red Hot Pokers) to the rarer and more unusual such as Dictamnus,
Morina, and Francoa.

Herbaceous plants are not listed in our catalogue however as the stock varies from
week to week so we suggest you call us for availability before coming if you are
after something special. Pot sizes are generally 2 litre and 3 litre although we
do sometimes have larger for an instant effect. Although all our plants outside
are hardy they will require conditions such as free-draining soil or damp shade.
We can advise you as to which would be best for any particular situation.
